About Paisley Born and Thread

Hello and welcome to Paisley Born and Thread, I’m Dave Muir, the face behind these artworks and the established Paisley design company - Muirmedia.

I have over 25 years of commercial experience in the fast-paced ‘design-for-print’ sector and have been running Muirmedia as a full-time company since December 2014. Being neurodiverse, I have a unique way of working from a creative point of view - spotting connections and joining obscure dots that others may not see.

Paisley Born and Thread binds together heritage and modernity, producing artwork that reflects the town's essence and hopefully, these artworks can evoke a sense of nostalgia and belonging. My aim is to produce high-quality creative artwork largely based on the rich heritage of Paisley and Renfrewshire. I’m a huge advocate of positivity in Paisley and the regeneration that we are currently experiencing. Add this to my love of local history and architecture and it is clear where my focus and enthusiasm come from.

My artwork for Paisley Born and Thread allows me to create artwork on my own terms, with no-one asking me to change anything, total freedom to create is one of the main driving forces behind this project.

It's been a continuous journey, and I'm excited to finally showcase these pieces for everyone to enjoy.
